PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Wanindu Hasaranga

Sri Lanka used the conditions to great effect today. Bowlers exploited whatever help was available and Hasaranga was too good yet again. Oman have still things in control as a win again Scotland will secure them a place in the Super Sixes. That's it from this game. Scotland are playing their second game today and have put up a challenging 282 on the board against UAE. Hop tabs to get a glimpse of that contest. Goodbye!

Dasun Shanaka | Sri Lanka captain: It's not about the toss, it's about the body language and intent. Lahiru Kumara and the bowlers had great intent. We don't take any team lightly. Whenever I throw the ball to him he (Hasaranga) gets wickets, very good that he is taking five-wicket hauls. It's a habit for them (openers giving good starts). This allows our hitters down the order to go hard later. Supporting staff and the management have done a great job in keeping the environment calm.

Zeeshan Maqsood | Oman captain: Good to play against Sri Lanka, we learnt a lot with the way they bowled and batted. First 10 overs we lost too many wickets. Ayaan with the bat was a positive to take from this game. We have been tested now and that is good for us. We are still on our toes, we have two wins and we are looking forward. We cannot lose hope, keep fighting and play well. Unfortunately Ayaan couldn't get the fifty, hopefully he will get it in the next game.

Wanindu Hasaranga | Player of the Match: This is a very good wicket to bowl for legspinners. I tried to bowl at the stumps, that's why I got wickets. I don't know the reason about that and I do my normal basic things [on batters still not picking him after so many games]. The fast bowlers bowled really well, they bowled in good areas, Kumara bowled well and Rajitha supported him. These matches are very helpful for the World Cup tournament for us.

12:47 Local Time, 10:47 GMT, 16:17 IST: So Sri Lanka's first outing in international cricket with Oman turns out to be a cakewalk. If game was killed in the powerplay when Sri Lanka chose to bowl. Kumara set it up taking three key batters. Rajitha was consistent too. Coach Chris Silverwood from the sidelines kept gesturing to bring on the leggie when Shanaka was bowling. The captain delayed the move by a couple of overs but Hasaranga made a massive impact as expected. Three wickets in his first two overs and Oman were totally down and out. Ayaan Khan managed to stretch it close to 100. The pitch had already eased out in the Oman innings and both Karunaratne and Nissanka coasted along for a 10-wicket win. Sri Lanka already had a massive win over UAE, now this win will further shoot their NRR higher. Stay tuned for the presentation...

14.6

Ayaan Khan to Karunaratne, FOUR, Karunaratne finishes off the game in unKarunaratne fashion. He's a solid, sound Test opener that will delight coaches. And now he's playing white-ball cricket because his country needs stability in the top-order and this high on technique, compact player has played the scoop shot to finish this game. Moved across to this shortish delivery and helped it on its way to fine-leg

14.5

Ayaan Khan to Nissanka, 1 run, shortish delivery, Nissanka goes back and punches it deep cover

14.4

Ayaan Khan to Karunaratne, 1 run, shorter in length, but it's a flick again, this time to deep square leg for one

14.3

Ayaan Khan to Karunaratne, 2 runs, on the pads, Karunaratne's favourite zone is the flick to mid-wicket/square leg and he gets two more

14.2

Ayaan Khan to Karunaratne, 2 runs, flicked away along the ground to deep mid-wicket

14.1

Ayaan Khan to Karunaratne, no run, short delivery down leg, Karunaratne misses the pull, gets hit on the pad but missing leg

Ayaan Khan, Left arm orthodox, comes into the attack

13.6

Zeeshan Maqsood to Nissanka, no run, defended to the right of the bowler

13.5

Zeeshan Maqsood to Nissanka, no run, quicker delivery, Nissanka misses the flick and gets hit on the pad, missing leg

13.4

Zeeshan Maqsood to Nissanka, FOUR, it's a slog sweep that almost went all the way over the deep mid-wicket fence. Just bounced inside. Very full from Zeeshan Maqsood, Nissanka smashes that from the middle of the bat

13.3

Zeeshan Maqsood to Nissanka, FOUR, down the track, to the pitch of the ball, delayed the bat swing a wee bit as Zeeshan Maqsood gave this more air but the timing on the lofted straight drive was spot on

13.2

Zeeshan Maqsood to Karunaratne, 1 run, flicked to deep square leg

13.1

Zeeshan Maqsood to Karunaratne, no run, oh tries the big slog sweep and completely misses the ball. Wasn't too far away from the off stump

12.6

Jay Odedra to Nissanka, no run, tossed up offbreak outside off, Nissanka misses the reverse-sweep but he gets way outside the line of off, highly optimistic from Jay Odedra appealing for LBW

12.5

Jay Odedra to Karunaratne, 1 run, again Karunaratne not to the pitch as he steps out to loft, chips it in the air towards mid-off who is back at long-off
