An aggressive wicket-keeper batsman who primarily opens the batting, Shamima Sultana has been part of the Bangladesh setup for five years now but hasn't always been a sure starter in the playing XI in ODIs. In the shortest format of the game, her slam-bang style of playing seemed a perfect fit, but it was only from 2018 that she managed to find a regular place in the XI. Her numbers with the bat are underwhelming but she has got enough support due to the x-factor that she is said to possess. Shamima's highest point in her career so far is the Asia Cup title win in 2018, secured by beating the formidable Indian team in the final. Behind the stumps, she is quite agile and deft in her glovework. In many ways, Shamima has been a late bloomer in international cricket and still has a few more years of cricket left in the tank.
