Rahil Shah

A wily slow left-arm orthodox spinner from Tamil Nadu, Rahil Shah has impressive figures in first-class cricket. Though he made his debut in 2011, Rahil has played less number of matches than he should've so far in his career. Rahil claimed only one wicket in his first ever first-class match but since then he has only got better when it comes to his bowling. With a handful of match winning spells that include 6 four-wicket hauls and 4 five-wicket hauls, he has been one of the main contributors for Tamil Nadu in Ranji Trophy over the last few years.

Although he has the experience of playing in India's domestic circuit for a long time, he's nearing that age when most of the players tend to call it a day. Hence, Rahil needs to keep that in mind and focus a bit more on his fitness to elongate his career to an extent. Being a part of Tamil Nadu's squad for Ranji season 2018-19, he can share his experience with other young spinners and help them grow as players. One of his best spells came against Baroda during the Group B match of Ranji Trophy in 2015 where Rahil claimed a 5-wicket haul in the second innings as Tamil Nadu won that thriller by a margin of just 7 runs. They had to defend 121 and Rahil bowled a superb spell to clean up the tail when Baroda were inches close to the target. His ability to deliver at crucial intervals is what makes him a crucial member of the team.
