Profile
Right-arm medium pacer, Josh Shaw signed a three-year contract with Gloucestershire in August 2019. Having played for Yorkshire on loan spells earlier in his career, Shaw made his first-class debut for Gloucestershire against Durham MCCU in 2016. It was a decent first-class debut for the lad as he claimed a wicket in each of the innings and chipped in with a handy contribution while batting lower down the order. A year before making his first-class debut, Shaw had also made his T20 debut. Representing Yorkshire in his maiden T20 match, Shaw proved to be very expensive as he conceded at an economy rate of more than 10, however, Yorkshire won that match due to Jonny Bairstow's excellent knock of 94* that came off 42 balls.

Shaw played only a couple of T20 matches for Yorkshire before he moved to Gloucestershire, but since then, the medium-pacer has taken 90-odd wickets in nearly 35 first-class matches. Josh's best first-class spell of 5/79 came against Sussex in September 2016 during the Specsavers County Championship match at the Bristol County Ground, and in 2019, Shaw bagged three wickets in one of the first-class encounter against Derbyshire - a spell that helped Gloucestershire clinch the match by 8 wickets. One of his distinguished performances with the bat came against Worcestershire in September 2019, as he batted at number 6 and stitched a 74-run stand with Miles Hammond to guide Gloucestershire home.
