Profile
One of the most experienced bowlers going around in the circuit, Jack Brooks, remains a very popular figure in the Yorkshire dressing-room. A big reason for Yorkshire's back-to-back championship winning campaigns in 2014 and 2015, Brooks took 68 wickets in the 2014 season, finishing second only to Sussex's Steven Maggofin, in the pecking order. He followed it up with yet another rich haul in the next year, finishing fourth amongst the highest wicket-takers.

A lively character on the field, Brooks rise from rags to riches is a story of folklore. Having started off in relative obscurity as a village cricketer, he then featured for the Minor Counties before snagging a deal with Northamptonshire in 2008. After impressing for the Northants second XI, Brooks broke into the main squad and the exit of South African Johan Vander Wath meant he had more opportunities to stake his claim for a permanent spot in the playing XI.

A couple of excellent seasons saw him earn a call-up to England's Performance squad in 2012 and soon after he quit Northamptonshire - by activating the exit clause which could enable him to aspire playing for the national team. A host of suitors actively sought his signature, but it was Yorkshire who were successful in enticing him to the comforts of Headingley.

His start at Yorkshire was a mix of success and disappointment. A hand injury curtailed his first season, but he still ended up claiming 34 wickets and also became only the second Yorkshire player to take a five-wicket haul in Twenty20 cricket. It was followed by two stunning seasons in 2014 and 2015 - years that put him in the legion of Yorkshire legends.
