With nothing left to play for at the men's ODI World Cup qualifier in Zimbabwe, West Indies duo of Jason Holder and Alzarri Joseph will return home early. The decision, WICB said, was being taken with a view to managing their workload ahead of the all-format home series against India in July-August.

For the first time in the history of the men's ODI World Cup, West Indies will not partake in it. Their chances of advancing to the tournament proper ended with a defeat to Scotland in Super Sixes on July 1. Their qualifier tournament schedule still has games against Oman and Sri Lanka - on July 5 and 7 respectively, where they have nothing at stake.

The India series meanwhile, kicks off their World Test Championship cycle with games in Dominica from July 12 and in Trinidad from July 20. The two sides will then play three 50-over games on July 27, July 29 and August 1 before squaring off in five T20Is between August 3 and August 13, with the last two played in Florida.
