Callum Taylor

A solid middle-order batsman, Callum John Taylor, created a a bit of excitement when he was selected for the England Under 19s in 2015, just after he debuted for Essex in the shortest version of the game. He was later selected in the 15-man squad for the Under 19 World Cup in 2016 in Bangladesh.

In his first World Cup game, Taylor smashed a 7-ball 21 against Fiji and followed it up with a 67-ball 59 against West Indies, a attack comprised of Alzarri Joseph, Keemo Paul and Shamar Springer. Taylor, however, saved his best against Sri Lanka where he notched up a gritty 42 on a slow, spinning track while the rest of his mates struggled to get past 20s. All the promise he showed during the mega event, however, fizzled out soon as he struggled with the conversion rate given the significance his batting position (mostly 3-5) holds.

After spending four years with Essex (played a handful of T20s and four First Class games), Taylor switched to Glamorgan in the latter half of the 2018 domestic season and was instantly added in the T20 squad for the Natwest Blast games. The Welsh-based club, however, finished sixth in the South Group table and failed to make it to the knock out stages.
